Coating Advice and Coating Inspections

FROSIO 3 and NACE CIP 2 certified
I carry out coating inspections according to the ISO, NACE and NORSOK requirements and take care of the assessment of coating procedures, the determination of the test and inspection plan and the acceptance criteria. I have extensive experience with the inspection of industrial paint systems.  For example, applied to steel constructions, pressure vessels, gas compressors and piping, but also to cargo ships and super yachts.

I am in possession of various paint inspection certificates (NACE CIP level 2, FROSIO level 3), and I own the safety certificate VCA VOL. I have experience in qualifying personnel and qualifying the coating procedure (CPT) according to the requirements of the NORSOK M-501.

Corrosion Mechanisms
Throughout my career, I have specialized in recognizing degradation and corrosion mechanisms and preventing corrosion by means of the right choice of materials and the correct design of the installation and protection against corrosion by applying protective coatings. It is important that during design, the weldability of, for example, a steel construction is taken into account (is it possible to lay a smooth weld without welding spatter) and the accessibility for cleaning, blasting and spraying.

During the operation of, for example, a gas compressor, the following corrosion mechanisms may occur: general corrosion, galvanic corrosion, crevice corrosion, intercrystalline corrosion, pitting corrosion, crack-forming stress corrosion cracking (Corrosion Cracking) and corrosion under insulation.

Quality Assurance and Quality Control

During the Construction of Pressure Equipment, Industrial Installations and Gas  Compressor Skids
The Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) applies to the pressure-retaining parts of, for example, an installation such as a compressorskid (pressure-retaining parts, for example pressure vessels, filters, coolers and installation lines). I have knowledge and extensive experience in the field of testing and inspecting pressure equipment according to the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED). The basis for this is my education Inspection and testing technology level 3. The PED makes demands on materials, permanent connections (welding), non-destructive testing, conformity assessment, marking and labeling and the technical documentation. CE marking can be applied if all requirements are met.

Together with you, I will prepare the Test and Inspection Plan (ITP) for your device, machine or installation, and I will also organize a Pre-Inspection Meeting (PIM). During production, I will carry out inspections according to the ITP.  This will all occur with the final goal of a successful delivery and a satisfied customer. Should it become necessary, I can also perform an audit for new suppliers, or carry out internal ISO-9001 and/or VCA audits.

Welding Inspections

I am committed to carrying out welding inspections for you according to the ISO, ASME and AWS standards and also assessing your welding procedures. Since 2015, I have been CSWIP 3.1 level 2 certified as Welding Inspector according to EN ISO 17637. In this capacity, I am authorized to inspect welds visually as well as supervise and assess welding procedures and welder qualifications (LK/LMK).
